Mark ’85 and Linda Ford Price ’83 announce the birth of Isaiah William-Lawrence on June 23, 2000. He joins his siblings, Micah (10), Noah (8), Eli (6), and Abby (4), at home in Warsaw, Indiana. Jeff ’85 and Kathleen Kirby Ulmer ’85 announce the birth of Jillian Eileen on July 5, 2000. Big brothers Kenton (7), Connor (5), and Gareth (2) welcomed her home in Delaware, Ohio. William Bany ’86 and his wife, Dawn, announce the adoption of their son, Noah Wayne Kim, on October 6, 2000. He was born March 16, 2000 in Seoul, South Korea, and now resides with the family in Bryan, Ohio. Bill and Dawn worked with the international adoption agency, Family Adoption Consultants (FAC), out of Macedonia, Ohio. They were introduced to FAC by Phil and Vicki Stambaugh, a couple at their church, who have two adopted children through FAC. Jean Moeser Keller ’86 and her husband, Joseph, announce the birth of Deborah Michelle on April 24, 2000. Her sisters, Hannah (8), Rebekah (7), Ruth (5), and Naomi (3), love her greatly. They reside in Columbus, Ohio. Dave ’87 and Val Hite Smallman ’85 are ministering with ABWE in Bauru, Brazil. They are thankful that their support and outfit and passage expenses were met in a timely fashion. Milo Thompson ’87H resigned his position as president of Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania in August 2000. Robert Bowman ’88 is a supervising attorney in the Cumberland/Salem county office of Camden Regional Legal Services, Inc., a non-profit law firm which represents indigent clients in civil matters throughout the five-county south New Jersey region. He and his wife, Sue Dean Bowman ’87 , and their children, Joy, Hannah, and Brent, attend Hope Chapel in Pine Hill, New Jersey. Bob is an elder on the governing board, and Sue is the church secretary. Diana Phillips Edwards ’88N and her husband, John, announce the birth of Addison Jane on May 22, 2000. Addison joins her brother, Nathan (6), at home in Holland, Michigan. John is an electrician, and Diana stays home with the children. They are active at Calvary Baptist Church. Michelle Lelah Hayes ’88 and her husband, W. Michael, announce the birth of W. Michael Hayes II on August 2, 2000. They reside in Dillon, South Carolina. Gil McClanahan ’88 works at KIDK-TV as the morning and noon co-anchor. He and his wife, Connie, reside in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Lynell Smith ’88 was involved in many ministry opportunities this past summer in Brazil. She was the field coordinator for two college students in a missions internship program, coordinated activities for a missions trip program, and helped with a barbecue for English- speaking people. Conrad Weaver ’88 is a Web editor for Group Publishing in Loveland, Colorado, after serving six years in full-time youth ministry in South Carolina. Conrad’s wife, Jodi, is a seventh grade teacher at Loveland Middle School. They have two children, Laken (5) and Spencer (2). 24 Winter 2000 Miriam Pressau Hixin ’83 and her husband, Jeff, announce the birth of Megan Emily on May 21, 2000. They reside in Renfrew, Pennsylvania. Dean ’83 and Crystal Starr Johnson ’86N announce the birth of Charissa Sarah on August 8, 2000. Her siblings, Quintanya (4) and Tyrin (1), awaited her arrival in Peoria, Illinois. Dean is an associate pastor at Mt. Olive Missionary Church, and Crystal is a physician assistant at St. Francis Medical Center. Laura Lehto ’83 lives on the northeast coast of Brazil where she is the director of studies for Cultura Inglesa, a private course which teaches English as a foreign language. She also helps with secretarial work and the worship teams at Central Baptist Church. Tim ’84 and Alice Boyd Dysert ’84 announce the birth of Nicolas James on July 1, 2000. Big brothers Stephen (5) and Philip (3) welcomed him home in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Tim and Alice share that Nicolas is an extra special blessing because of two miscarriages in the previous two years. The experience of the miscarriages has opened up a ministry opportunity for Alice. She has given gospel tracts, pamphlets, and books about miscarriage from a Christian perspective to several women. Although they wish they could have met the children they lost, they are glad the Lord is using them to plant gospel seeds and encourage grieving believers. The Dyserts are on deputation with Baptist World Mission as appointees to Madrid, Spain. They are making plans for a June 2001 departure date. Mark Fisher ’84 and his wife, Lori, announce the birth of Brennan Paine on June 3, 2000. He joins his four siblings at home in Yucaipa, California. Mark is the senior director of marketing ministries at Forest Home. Tom ’84 and Chris Friesen Greenwood ’89 announce the birth of Jacey Renee. She was born July 24, 2000 in Springfield, Ohio and joins her siblings, Erin (8), Tyler (5), and Jaden (3). Sherri Wilson Patterson ’84 and her husband, Kent, announce the birth of twins, John Kent and Elizabeth Neal, on August 15, 2000. Sherri is a homemaker, and Kent is a squadron commander for Air Force Recruiting Service. They reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jane Adams Smith ’84 , former director of alumni relations at Cedarville, was recognized as a 2000 VIP National Sales Award Winner by the Longaberger® Company at their annual convention in Columbus, Ohio. Dave Hartsough ’85 is a pharmaceutical sales specialist with AstraZeneca in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Colin Lord ’85 is the music teacher in the Paton- Churdan Public Schools in Iowa. He was also the interim pastor for five months at two local churches. His wife, Dianne Noggle Lord ’88N , is a transcriptionist and musical editor for Christway Media. Colin and Dianne home-school their two oldest children, Maria (7) and Colin David (5), and try to keep up with Jonathan (4), Natasha (3), and Benjamin (1). Laurie Cooper Barkoskie ’89 and her husband, James, announce the adoption of their son, Nathan Robert James. He was born June 19, 1998 and placed in their loving arms on June 19, 1999 in Sibiu, Romania. They live in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, and are active members of Quaboag Valley Baptist Church. Isaiah 43:5-6 gave them much encouragement during their two and a half years of waiting for Nathan. It states, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.” Molly Williams Cornwell ’89 and her husband, Jim, announce the birth of Melody Grace on September 6, 2000. She joins her siblings, Jacob (4) and Michaila (1), at home in Weston, West Virginia. Jim directs a group home for Home Base, Inc. Paul ’89 and Andrea Berry Czerniak ’90 announce the birth of their daughter, Ryan Makenzie, on March 22, 2000. Paul is the state sales director for GuideOne Insurance, and Andrea recently resigned her job as an international product specialist for Sterling Commerce to stay at home with Ryan. Michelle Prince ’89 has been promoted to controller with The Staubach Company’s northern California region. The company is an international corporate real estate advisory firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Michelle lives in Cupertino, California, and attends Bethel Church of San Jose. Jim Taylor ’89 received his master of computer use in education degree from Cleveland State University in May 2000. He works at First Baptist Christian School in Elyria, Ohio. Jim and his wife, Cindy Cleaver Taylor ’89 , announce the birth of Brevan Garrett on August 1, 2000. He joins his siblings, Rebecca (7), Brooke (5), and Benjamin (3), at home in Lorain, Ohio. Craig ’89 and Leah Robbins Terrell ’89 announce the birth of fraternal twins, Rachel Marie and Nicole Joy, on August 29, 1998. The twins became big sisters with the arrival of Stephanie Renee on June 18, 2000. Leah stays home with the girls and teaches piano lessons. Craig is a program manager for Litton PRC and oversees several computer support contracts at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The Terrells reside in South Charleston, Ohio, and are active members of Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Derek Whalen ’89 and his wife, Christy, announce the birth of Charis LeAnn. She was born July 22, 2000 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and joins her siblings, Derek Matthew (6) and Deanna Joy (4). Derek is the pastor of student ministries at Grace Bible Church.
