Personal Prayer Pockets The infamous PACL requirement at Cedarville University sparked a lot more than sore muscles in Carolyn Martin ’91 while she was a student at the ’Ville. Her PACL experience gave her the idea for a prayer tool called the Personal Prayer Pocket organizer. Carolyn explained that PACL taught her “to pray and walk simultaneously.” However, her many prayer lists were somewhat cumbersome to handle as she walked, so this led her to develop the organizer. Carolyn noted, “The prayer organizer can be worn on the wrist like a bracelet and holds nearly 400 prayer requests in categories such as praise and thanksgiving, the spiritually lost, family and friends, and national leaders.” However, it is custom-designed to be expanded and personalized. This is the second product that Carolyn has developed as the founder of Tell the Truth Ministries, an organization which provides unique spiritual resources, particularly for prayer and counter-cult evangelism. For more information about her organizer and ministry, visit www.tellthetruthministry.com or e-mail her at carolynmartin1@juno.com . Her mailing address is P.O. Box 132, New Providence, PA 17560. Got Corn Flakes? It’s true that Jeff Montie ’83 is senior vice president for the Kellogg Company, but that doesn’t mean his recent trip to Cedarville was a spot- check on the dining hall’s supply of corn flakes. Jeff was visiting campus with his two sons (who are currently high school juniors) and was invited by the department of business administration to speak to business students about how Kellogg conducts strategic planning. Jeff, who holds an MBA from The Ohio State University, had plenty of experience and knowledge to share with students. He is not only the senior vice president at Kellogg—he is also president of the Kellogg USA Morning Foods Division and a member of the company’s executive management committee. Jeff and his wife, Becky (Davis) ’83 , reside in Portage, Michigan.
