A veteran lawyer, De has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals and has defended individuals in high profile criminal cases and congressional investigations. De is currently the president of the Assistant United States Attorney's Association. De's specialty includes matters pending before the U.S. Attorney's office, the Department of Justice, U.S. Congress, the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. In his career, Be has received numerous U.S. Attorney's Office Special Achievement Awards as well as commendations from organizations such as the U.S. Secret Service, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Metropolitan Police Department. Be is a frequent guest on MSNBC's "Hardball" and "The Abrams Report," CNN, NBC, Court-TV, and Fox Television, providing legal commentary when needed. De also teaches classes on trial advocacy at the University of Virginia, George Washington University, and American University. After graduating from Cedarville University, Be went to the University of Virginia where he earned his J.D. degree, graduating with honors. She joins her brother, Liam Russell, in Lake Stevens, Washington. Brian is the director of development at Northwest Theological Seminary and is working to complete his doctorate in apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary. In May 2006, he was licensed to preach by the Presbytery of Philadelphia of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Ben Brown '92 shares that he was recently involved in a writing project related to youth ministry. The book is called Pushing the Limits: Unleashing The Potential ofStudent Ministry, and he wrote the chapter titled "Building a Great Student Ministry." This book can be used as a source of teaching and encouragement to youth pastors who are committed to disciple-making ministry. Timothy Nichols'92 and his wife, Christine, announce the birth of Timothy Jon on January 25, 2006. They reside in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Kevin '92 and Tia Reed Reilly '85 enjoy serving with ABWE in Costa Rica. Kevin is the director of Sojourn Academy, a school within a language school for missionaries planning to minister in Spanish, and he is also the provisional field coordinator for the ABWE missionaries. Tia teaches high school English and manages the library. They are so appreciative of their four children, Sean (18), Kaitlyn (16), Colleen (13), and Tara (12), who help them in great ways with the school ministry. The family attends and helps with the ministry at New Life Impact Baptist Church in San José. Carol Jariga Hoff'93 and her husband, Thom, announce the birth of Benjamin Thomas on November 5, 2005. Carol is a part-time researcher for Ernst & Young, and Thom is a consultant for Allstate. They reside in Tallmadge, Ohio. They are happy to live close to Carol's brother, Bill Jariga '94,so that his three boys, Andrew (7), Jacob (4), and Matthew (2), can play with Ben. Bill is an engineer at Babcock & Wilcox. Both families are involved at The Chapel in Akron. Doug Taylor'93 is the athletic director at Fredericksburg Christian School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Eric Binning '94 is the product manager for Encompix. Aaron '95 and Christina Baley Stark '97 announce the birth of Maxwell Travis on April 29, 2006. Aaron is an electrical engineer for BAE Systems in Nashua, New Hampshire. Christina enjoys being a stay-at-home mom after eight years of teaching high school history. Susie Rooke Cove'96 and her husband, Sean, announce the birth of their twins, Jacob David and Rachel Katherine. They were born January 17, 2006 in Bakersfield, California. Sean is the assistant controller at a dairy, and Susie enjoys staying at home after 10 years of teaching second grade. David '96 and Aimee Greenwood Hoskins'98 announce the birth of Lauren Noelle on May 2, 2006. Her brother, Zachary John (2), welcomed her home in Springfield, Ohio. David is an assistant vice president at Huntington National Bank, and Aimee is a part-time analyst at Speedway SuperAmerica. They attend Southgate Baptist Church. Julie Cooper Hovance '96 and her husband, Jason, announce the birth of Kaylah Ann on March 13, 2006. She joins her brother, Jon (18 months), in Columbus, Ohio. Julie is a benefits coordinator for The Ohio State University. John '96 and Ami Owens Lightly '96 announce the birth of their twins, Emily Jane and MacKenzie Sue, on April 15, 2006 in Youngstown, Ohio. John is a Youngstown Staff Member in Heaven The Cedarville family was saddened to hear of the sudden homegoing of staff member Gabriel David Custer '98. Gabe entered into his Savior's presence unexpectedly following a car accident on October 21, 2006. After graduating from Cedarville, Gabe went on to earn his MBA from Wright State University. He worked in computer services at Cedarville for the past eight years. Gabe is remembered by his family, friends, and coworkers for his humble spirit, his gentle demeanor, and his supportive nature. He was a loving husband and father to his wife Katy(Lemmon)'02 and his children, Samuel and Seth. Just two days before his death, Gabe e-mailed the alumni office to announce the birth of his second son, Seth. He wrote: Gabe'98 and Katy lemmon Custer'02announce the birth ofSeth Christopher on March 11, 2006. He joins his brother, Sammy(3). Gabe works at Cedarville University as a programmer, and Katy teaches piano from their home in Beaverueek, Ohio. Although Gabe could not have known that his time on this earth was coming to an end, he desired to live all the days given to him in a way that was pleasing to the Lord. Gabe will be deeply missed by his wife and children as well as his parents, Bob and Midge Custer of Woodstock, Ohio; a sister; three brothers; and many other family and friends. city firefighter and a paramedic for a private ambulance company. Big sister Kelly(4) welcomed her home in Cedarville, Ohio. Chris is a seventh grade math teacher at East Clinton Middle School, and Debbie enjoys staying at home with the girls. Dan'97 and Denise Proudfpot Huber'96 announce the births of their two children. Abigail Monet was born in June 2004 and Brayden Daniel was born in April 2006. They reside in Ft. Worth, Texas, where Dan is completing his doctorate in Old Testament theology. Denise is a nurse manager at Cook Children's Medical Center. Inspire 29
