It was myfreshman year at Cedarville, and I was in the fall play. The public relations department sent a news release to myhometown newspaper, and they printed it! It wasn't much, but I was thrilled to see my name in print. Since that time,I've learned that it's not always so exciting to be in the news.Although I don't have any notoriety to speak of,I quickly learned that you're not always quoted accurately nor are your views always clearly expressed.I realized the importance(for me,at least)to always answer questions in writing rather than verbally because I need that extra time to formulate exactly how I want to say something. However, never has there been a human interest story written about me ... much less anything newsworthy! This isn't the case for manyCU alumni.Because we're always excited to see alums in the news,we decided to feature some ofthose alumni and their stories in this issue ofInspire. From NASA to a football refto investing to an organ donor to operating in Iraq, our alums are doing it! Whata blessing it is to know that God is using CU alums all over the world in all sorts ofways. Although veryfew ofus arefamous(at least by the world's standards),it's great to see God providing opportunities to so many ofHis people in so many ways.I hope that when you're in the news, you'll let us know! We'd love to share your news and celebrate with you!
