"The Cedarville Story" Exhibit Research Lockers Now Available New Cedrus Press Publication Newsletter Highlights Digital Commons Assistant Hired Dr. Paul Dixon, eighth president of the University, often said, "When people ask me to explain Cedarville's success, the only response is God!" God's provision. God's intervention. God's blessing. The current Biblical Heritage Gallery exhibit, "The Cedarville Story", is celebrating God's blessing on Cedarville by bringing together eight histories of the University written over the last 60 years that tell the story of God's faithfulness to Cedarville and the work of God's servants used to accomplish much here. The writers represented in this exhibit have tried to capture that story of God's work in this unique place. The items in the exhibit are available in the Centennial Library collection and can be borrowed or you can visit the exhibit online. A key element of the program, the Centennial Library Internship, is a 3-credit course offered fall semesters. Applications for the Fall 2023 internship will be accepted between January 18 and February 10. Interns, who are paid, do projects in many areas of the library. For more information visit the library website. Other elements of the Library Careers Program include the annual Library Careers Dinner, CU Career Fair participation, Career Explorations, mentoring, and workshops. Students who complete the internship course have the opportunity of taking the spring semester Library Independent Study course, which allows them to focus on areas of interest that they developed during the internship. During Spring 2023, PWID major Morgan Rupp, a 2022 intern, will be exploring the ways that professional writing and information design skills can be used in libraries. Spotlight on Faculty Publishing Faculty in Print Alumni in Print Ashley Riddle, Classes of 2021 (Bachelor's) and 2022 (Master's) Intentional Cultivation: Six Topics to Consider When Starting a Girls' Ministry, Lulu Press, 2022. Intentional Cultivation is designed to help reduce some of the burden of starting or revamping a girls' ministry. It focuses on getting leaders to ask the right questions and to frame their ministry in a way that will be beneficial to both the church and the students involved. The author's prayer is that this book will help church leaders create meaningful ministry programs for girls that center on Christ and cultivate both a knowledge of and love for God. This brief curriculum highlights six key components of girls' ministry: theology, necessity, purpose, vision, structure, and resources. Ashley states: Intentional Cultivation started out as the capstone project for my Cedarville M.Min. degree! As I was writing, I kept thinking, "this could be so helpful for others who are trying to start a girls' ministry." My time at Cedarville, as both an undergraduate and graduate student, taught me a lot about practically doing ministry and I wanted to make some of that knowledge available to others -- in a pretty condensed way. Intentional Cultivation can be purchased here.
