Throughout the late 1940s, at the height of the Swing Era, Prima adapted the tarantella to big band settings, as well. As expected, these compositions were more elaborate in orchestration. However, they still featured the 6/8 meter with the snare drum emulating the tambourine (see Examples 2 and 4).
