Ronald “the Gipper” Reagan is the governor of California, television takes us into outer space for the first time, miniskirts and go-go boots shocked the uptight establishment. Thanks to Pampers, babies’ bottoms are now covered with something other than cloth. The music industry is invaded by the English and dominated by The Monkees, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys. The fight for civil rights and an unpopular foreign War preoccupy the minds of many Americans. Pogo sticks, paisley shirts, and a camera that takes magically appearing pictures are all the rage. Omar Sharif is on movie theater marquees as the Russian Doctor Zivago, and Neil Simons play, The Star-Spangled Girl debuts at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City. Tonight I invite you to sit back, relax, and take a trip down memory lane. And if you weren’t around for the 60s, hang on and we’ll show you what you missed! Thanks for coming! Mischelle L.
