we have-this democracy. They don't know where they are going. They have no sense of what things will be like a year from now or five years from now. The suicide rate among young adults is escalating. And the very thing that Moses appealed for in this passage is still what we declare today. That is, God is a God of grace. Heaven can be the home of those that deserve nothing more than hell. Grace is applied to the lives of those who have never so much as said grace, much less deserved it. God is a God who is powerful to forgive. Moses learned something about that within the context of this passage. We live in a day when people are hungry and thirsty for power. God has given us a very special privilege of representing the God of the universe, the One whose power has never ever been matched. He is desirous of demonstrating through us His power to forgive and save, His power to direct and protect, and His power to provide. His power is a changeless truth that needs to be conveyed to a contemporary culture. You must not rest in anything that you have within yourself to make an impact on this world. Rather, rest in the fact that God Himself is omnipotent and He is your Savior and you are His servant. He desires you to be an instrument in His hand-not to demonstrate what you are capable of, but to demonstrate what he can do through you. Let Him do that. IJ
