Dr. Paul Di xon , President Ground Breaking For New Building On April 5, the College broke ground for the new science/engineering/nursing building, scheduled for completion in September 1992. A Friday afternoon ceremony featured comments by President Dixon, trustees , faculty , students, and staff. The perimeter of the future building was outlined by those in attendance. The three-story , 68 ,000 square-foot structure will adjoin the present 27,000 square-foot Science Center to give Cedarville students one of the finest and largest fac ilities of its kind among independent colleges. The three departments will acquire needed laboratories, classrooms, faculty office space, laboratory storage and preparation rooms, secretarial support areas, and faculty and student lounges. Other academic departments will gain a lecture hall and several classrooms. The exterior design will complement that of the Centennial Library. CC Plane Competes Cedarville engineering students recently competed in the 1991 Aero Design Com– petition at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio. Entered were planes from over 40 colleges and uni ver– sities from across the U.S. and abroad. The Cedarvi ll e entry was the only one with freshman contestants and was the College ' s first entry in such competition. Airplane models were designed and built by the students to take off, fly , and safely land carrying increasing weights. Ce– darville 's plane finished 13th out of 43 .
