~-------------------------------------- Worldwide Ministries This summer Cedarville College will send over 90 students to Missionary In– ternship Service (MIS) opportunities around the world. They will assist missionaries and pastors in a variety of ministries involving puppets, music, drama, and athletics, as well as tradi– tional church activities such as camp work, VBS, and visitation. Alaska; Argentina; Australia; Austria; Canada; Chile; China; Ecuador; England; Ireland; Kenya; Mexico; Papua New Guinea; the Philippines; St. Vincent Island in the Virgin Islands; and Togo, West Africa, are the mission fields where eight teams and many individuals will serve. Cedarville In Mexico Dr. Philip Jones, associate professor of Spanish, will direct "Cedarville in Mex– ico," a summer study program which provides 15-17 hours of language credit. Students study Spanish for five weeks at Cedarville College, then spend five weeks in the cultural setting of Mexico. Summer Activities In Mainland China The Anderson family- Lyle, Connie, Eric, 17, and Lori, 15-will be in Hong Kong and China for 3 1/2 weeks in July. Dr. Anderson is a professor of music and directs the Concert Chorale, and his wife, Connie, is an adjunct professor of music at Cedarville College. The Andersons will have an emichment ministry among foreigners in China and Hong Kong. They will also present programs of American Folk Music at agricultural communes, factories, and universities. Cedarville College is sending a drama team which will present cuttings from a variety of musical and dramatic literature to English speaking audiences in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai universities. The presenta– tions will center on the themes of hope and love. Myron Youngman, a Cedarville graduate and teacher in China for six years , will lead a two-week tour of China and Hong Kong June 23-July 7. TORCH readers can still contact Myron at the College concerning the tour. Dr. Richard Baldwin, center, with believers in Gorky, Russia. Baldwin Guest Lecturer In U.S.S.R. Dr. Richard Baldwin, associate professor of management, was guest lecturer at the Foreign Language Institute of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod), Russia March 16-25 . He addressed topics of management, international business, and doing business in the U.S. for a group of industrial managers and for students and faculty of the Institute. He distributed Bibles and Christian literature to individuals and was able to place Bibles in the public library. Dr. Baldwin fellowshipped with believers in a Baptist church in Gorky and preached during the morning service. Arrangements for the project were made by Ziebell Associates through the Slavic Gospel Association in Wheaton, Illinois.
