-------------------------------------------------J~ CAMPUS NEWS Dr. Paul Dixon addressed the 402 graduates, their parents, and friends at the 94th annual com– mencement exercises on June 2. The College conferred the Doctor of Divinity degree on Rev . Richard D. Holliday, General Director of Muskoka Baptist Conference and Camp Widjiitiwin, Huntsville, Ontario. Recipients of the President's Trophy were Julie Titus of Fairfax, Virginia, and Nathan Bobbett of New Carlisle, Ohio. Kathryn Bavec of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, received the Faculty Scholarship Trophy. I n June, Professor Charles Pagnard took the 18-member Brass Choir to Hungary for a three-week ministry of concerts, sharing the Word of God, and personal testimonies. Andrea Gerstner, a 1990 Cedarville graduate from Budapest, served as interpreter and guide. Professor Pagnard accompa– nied the Brass Choir to Israel in 1987 and to Brazil in 1981 and 1982. Pending final approval by The Ohio Board of Regents, Cedarville College will launch its B.S.E. (Bachelor of Science in Engineering) program in the fall of 1990. Offering majors in electrical and mechanical engineering, the program is designed to accommodate 50 students in the freshman class. The department chair will be announced later this summer. Spring Sports Championships Softball T hree Cedarville College professors completed doctoral studies in the spring. Associate Professor of Political Science Joseph Halsey (left) received the Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati; Assistant Professor of Bible Floyd Elmore (center), the Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and Assistant Professor of Music James Colman (right), the Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Weibert Makes Sports Illustrated NAIA District 22 Western Buckeye Collegiate Conference Freshman softball pitcher Cindy Weibert broke many school records this spring and claimed two no-hitters (one, a perfect game) in as many days. Her exploits earned her a spot in the "Faces in the Baseball Mid-Ohio Conference Men's Tennis NAIA District 22 Women 's Tennis NAIA District 22 Crowd" column of Sports Illustrated 's June 11 issue.
