l IHAT'SIOST IMPORTANT Family? Parents? Friends? Career? Education? Wealth? Health? Happiness? Long life? • None of the above comes even close to the most important thing in all of life. Unfortunately, many people spend their entire lives in pursuit of career, or education, or health, or happiness, etc. And, when this earthly life is over, their attainment is of value, but not as significant as... WHO IS LORD? Everyone has a lord, someone or something that rules behavior, belief, and life direction. Those whose lord or god is wealth live for the acquirement of material possessions. Those whose lord is self engage in a lifestyle filled with indulgences that satisfy the senses. Even education can be a god to some resulting in valuing knowledge for the sake of knowledge and the power and prestige that it brings. None of these false gods brings lasting satisfaction or favor with God the Father. In His list of 10 commandments He states, "I am the Lord thy God...Thou shalt have no other gods before Me...for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God" (Exodus 20:2, 3, 5). God is. No other god really matters. But, is God YOUR Lord? If He is, He lovingly rules your life guiding your decisions so that they result in good for you and glory for Him. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). However, if He is not Lord of your life you may not have a personal relationship with Him. The following Scriptures explain how you can know God. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). "But as many as received Him [as Savior], to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (John 1:12). " Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved..." (Acts 16:31 ). "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh , but after the Spirit" (Romans 8: I).
