8 Dr. Paul Dixon was inaugurated as the eighth president of Cedarville College during the annual Homecoming weekend this past October 21st. Presidents and representatives of 26 colleges and universities from across the country attended the day's activities, which included an Inaugural Luncheon. The following are excerpts from the remarks made during the Inaugural Convocation. DR. JOSEPH STOWELL Dr. Stowell is National Representative ofthe General Association of Regular Baptist Churches and spoke on the legacy and background of Cedarville College. ". . . [0 ]ur spiritual forefathers were men of deep and strong conviction and they came into these prairie lands with their Bibles and a strong belief in heart, and established churches. . . . There were three things that characterized them that have characterized our Regular Baptist movement. First of all, t,hey were Bible preachers. Secondly, they manifest a warm and wonderful evangelistic fervor and zeal. And, finally, they had a great heart for Christian missions ... to spread the gospel around the world. . .. Cedarville College was born with that kind of a background, and has kept and maintained it to this very hour." DR. PAUL DIXON'S
