GAMES The daughters of the Orange and Blue carried off the laurels of their opening game of the season when they defeated the Springfield girls on the home floor, December 21, 1925. In the first quarter the College girls seemed to have their opponents entirely outclassed. During the next two time periods the Springfield girls rolled up a score that bade fair to fix the decision, but in the last quarter the Cedarville basketeers with a mighty effort tipped the balance and emerged with a 26-25 victory. Springfield Business College girls met C. C. girls in the college gymnasium. Did the girls win? Please notice the score-39-11. All did excellent work and succeeded in oewildering the visitors. Coach Tuttle, in the final quarter, sent in substitutes until all but one of the team had been retired, yet the whirlwind kept up and Springfield could not locate the basket. February 12 the girls' squad met for the second time the Springfield Y. W.C. A. team. This time on their home floor. The first half of the game having been completed, the score stood 16-7 in favor of Springfield. The Cedarville team then settled down to hard work and the game ended 31-25 in Cedarville's favor. The girls' team made their first venture in playing boys' rules February 15, when they met the Dayton Power and Light Girls on the Alford floor. The col- lege girls were rather brave to face such opponents because the team from Dayton held city championship there. By playing a hard game the Orange and Blue held the other team in check and the tilt ended 10-15 in favor of Dayton. Page Eighty-two •, , 1 , '.
