1934 Cedrus Yearbook

When one thinks of college, he must necessarily think of books, for books play an enormous part in a college education. When the Main Hall was built in 1896, one room was set aside as a library, but this room soon became too small to accommodate the increas- ing number of books. Therefore, in December, 1905, Andrew Carnegie generously donated $12,000 to erect a library building, with a ca- pacity of 17,000 volumes, for Cedarville College. The college and community cooperate in maintaining and enjoying the library. The basement of the li- brary at the present time furnishes quar- ters for the "Eating Club," the literary society, and the department of music. Page Fourteen
