1965 Miracle Yearbook
Baseball Baseball season 1965 was a new venture for the Yellow Jackets as they took the First Southern trip in the school's history. Although they encountered stiff competi- tion from Union University of Jackson, Tenn., the experience was well worth the time spent there. The remainder of the season statistically was 4-10 with victories over Ashland, Defiance,Bluffton, and Malone Colleges. Co-captains Mark Combs and Al Merwald led the team. There was also timely hitting from Gary Shufelt and strong pitching from Charlie Wilkins. Coach Moody and captains Merwald and Combs explain ground rules to umpires and visiting team from Defiance.
