PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION Dr. Clifford Johnson Mr. Merlin Ager The wonderful operations of learning, thinking and teaching have long interested man. The Division of Psychology and Education attempts to present instruction in these areas in order to help thestudent understand principles and con- cepts which operate in and through him. Man's behavior has long intrigued scholars and students. Psychology is the discipline which has developed a body of knowledge seeking answers and providing explanations in this area. Many present day psychologists take philo- sophical positions which tend to stress the rational acts of human beings as simply a process akin to that used by animals but perhaps a bit more highly developed. The Christian psychologist suggests that factors other than strictly humanistic elements also play an important part in the development and outworking of the human mind. 18
