1969 Miracle Yearbook

Sock 'n Buskin Presents: The dramatical collegienne talent is gathered into the theatrical club, Sock 'n Buskin. This honor group is selected only after candidates have worked in school play productions and have shown a genuine interest in drama. This year Sock 'n Buskin presented the fall play, The Crucible, a drama of the horror of the Salem witch trials. Climaxing the school year was the comedy, Pygmalion, the story of a flower girl changed into upper class by perfecting her speech. To add a new highlight in entertainment, the music department combined its vocal ability with Sock 'n Buskin's dramatic skills to perform the operetta, Finian's Rainbow, an Irish-studded play of shamrocks, leprechauns, and golden rainbows. Its overwhelming popularity hopes to bring future operettas for coming years. The dramatic department could not be a reality without the past efforts of one woman of "push" and dramatic ability in her own right. Her respect and skill have earned her the popularity that she now claims, and for this Sock 'n Buskin thanks Mrs. Maddox.
