1975 Miracle Yearbook
Cedarville College as a Christian institution now has a greater purpose than ever to influence young people for Christ. April 9, 1975 was a red-letter day for the Cedarville College family. At ten o'clock that morning we re- ceived the formal announcement that the college had been regionally accredited by the North Central As- sociation of Colleges and Secondary Schools. For this recognition we gave thanks to God and apprecia- tion to the many friends who have helped us reach this goal. There have been many who have faithfully prayed and worked long hours so that this recogni- tion might become a reality. Special mention should be made of the trustees, of the faculty, of the mem- bers of the administration, and of the alumni and students who have been loyal to the college during the years before accreditation became a reality. It is a matter of great encouragement to us that while we were seeking accreditation, our Biblical position and spiritual standards have not been over- looked, but in fact strengthened. Working for ac- creditation and obtaining it has had only good effects on the college, its spiritual purposes, and academic program. Now that the college is regionally accredited, our students will have wider acceptance in graduate schools and be able to transfer credits to other schools with greater ease. Accreditation does not mean that we have arrived at total fulfillment, but it does mean we are a good college and urges us to strive to be a better one. "With Paul we can say,"I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do . . I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14,15). Let us con- centrate on this"one thing." James T.Jeremiah
