Coming from Indonesia where my parents are mis- sionaries. I arrived in America on June 5, and ever since that time I have been reorienting myself to the Ameri- can culture. When I arrived on cam- pus,the difference hit me the hardest. Never had I seen so many people of my own race and language all in one place. I wanted to shout"hello" to ev- eryone to make sure that they cou understand me! Another big adjustment was It way that women are treated here i America. In Indonesia, all the men sit o one side of the church, and all th women sit on the other. I was just little disoriented when I first walked inii chapel and everyone was all mixe together! I am still adjusting, but litt by little I am learning to"be American as my roomate would say. 122 Freshmen
