T4IMING OF T41-1E 54-IREW 41 SUEEESSFUL RIOW "It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house." Proverbs 25:24 Men have attempted to subdue the irascible vixens of their time since the fall of man; for the last four hundred years, Shakespeare's portrayal of this effort has entertained audiences by making light of the challenges of living with a "shrewish" woman. On the first two weekends in May, the Village Players presented Shakespeare's Tam- ing of the Shrew as directed by David Robey. The cast of twenty students and fac- ulty was led by Rebecca White and Gary Cooke in the roles of Kate and Perruchio. Shown on Parent's Week- end, many visitors had an opportunity to view what Professor Robey termed "ci successful show." 36 Spring Ploy
