You could see it in their laughter framed faces as they portrayed unity and enduring friendship. You could hear it in their voices as passers-by greeted and encour- aged one another on half- crowded sidewalks. You could feel it as they shared the emo- tions of losses and victories throughout the year. But the difference does not exist mere- ly on the surface.
