Wearing a face mask,Marnie Bauer protects herselffrom the dust and dirt Chad Davis saws his way into the new Clubhouse. that covers the clubhouse. First Impressions Date: October,1990 Project:Aninner-city,student run coffee house designed to reach alternative youth for Christ. Place: Downtown Cincinatti, OH. Fear and excitment clenched my heart as Bernie tugged at the large wooden door. Close behind the other guys, I carefully stepped through the dark doorway into the Clubhouse. We had been praying for this closed- down punk bar for some time now, anxiously anticipating how God may use this place: by transforming it into a cof- fee house,or a home for run- aways, or who knows what else---all for his glory. A live band playing Chris- tian music, coffee, cocoa, day old donuts, homemade cook- ies and pastries, and some dedicated prayer warriors; there would be no limit to what God could do. Punks, homosexuals, international students, all sitting at God's coffee house grasping at the love they are shown from Him. Minds racing. Shouts. Questions. Screams. Tears. Broken hearts, enlightened and calling out to Christ. After touring the building, we pause and corporately lift our burdened hearts to our Great God. My heart is pounding so loudly it is al- most audible. The excitement in my soul makes me want to do cartwheels! God's lost city — Cincin- nati. God's chosen people sentto reach them — you and me. How will He accomplish so great a task? What will He use?Afew willing hearts?I'm positive. The Clubhouse? Maybe so. — Nichole Bouchard Tracy Powers provides a new coat of paint at the clubhouse.
