For allinvolved,the visitscan "brighten up"life. 1 Visiting the Hospitality Home once a week, team members seek to minister to the needs of the elderly. Rather than viewing their weekly visitsasanobligation,memberslookforward to their visits. Members consider their visits a privilege.Eachhasapersonaldesiretoreachout to the elderly,those mostoften forgotten in our society.Asrelationships are built,membersen- joythereward ofhearingthe words"Ilove you" from the lips ofan elderly friend. This is what ministering to the elderly is all about--not forsaking them but showing them that oldageandallthechangesthatcanaccompanyitarepartofGod's plan.Thisteamstrivestobefriend theelderly peopleatSt.John's. Thestudentsinvolved believe thatGod loves people regardless oftheirageor abilities,and theyarethanlcfulfortheblessingthat the residents ofSt.John's have been to them!
