I'm Mark Button. You're listen- ing to AM 530, WSRN! Here's a 'CurrenCtut' by Michael English,"Takethe Time."WSRN,thestudent radio networkofCedarville College, begins another broadcast day from their studios high atop Collins Hall. The radio station is run by students under the supervision of advisor Mr. Jim Leightenheimer. Broadcasting majors, as well as those in Com Arts and various other majors, do notjust get practical lab experience, butthey actu- ally run a real radio sta- tion. Their responsibilities include station manage- ment, production, promo- tions, sales, and announc- ing. Early mornings and late nights are the curse of the radio announcer: getting up in time to remind the rooster to crow and stay- ing up long enough to tuck the campus into bed at night. Mornings feature the campus'favorite trivia show, "Dialing for Do- nuts," where the winner receives donuts from Young'sDairy.WSRN has many evening feature shows including "The Monday Night Kickoff," "Christian Music Weekly," "Now That's Music," and the longest running show on WSRN, "The Latebreak Request Show." The staff at WSRN is dedicated to quality radio broadcasting that will glo- rify God and encourage the student body. They prove this through many hours of dedicated ser- vice. Serving the student body with radio program- ming and station remotes across campus allows WSRN to stay on the cut- ting edge of the broad- casting industry, prepar- ing the graduates for en- trance intothejob market. •Bill Montgomery -7 Front row: Darran Reebel, Brian Nelson, Holly Snyder, Brian Spencer.Second row: Leah Rosenvold, Jennifer Ross, Andrew Biddle.
