1994 Miracle Yearbook

SGA -- Back to the Basics Rather than trying to change the world on its own, the SGA for the 1993-94 school year became more accessible and alive to the students and encouraged them to go out and get involved in the events raging around the Cedarville "bubble." In addition to sponsoring, arrang- ing,and planning annual eventssuch as the Homecoming festivities, class and SGAelections, and special meals at Chuck's, they installed an e-mail line in to SGA for student input, approved four new organization charters, and saw the beginnings of two new committees: one for off- campus students and one for inter- culturalstudents. Working with main- tenance, SGA also began a recy- cling program on campus, kicking it off with a dorm-wide contest to see who could recycle the most. Most importantly, the students were ex- posed to the basic attack on human- ity, abortion. SGA brought in various speakers and encouraged students to take part in acting peacefully against abortion. Toward the end of the year, SGA had a change machine installed in the Athletic Center and additional vending machinesin thedorms. They were even able to have a new rule approved saying that women may now wear pants during the entire Winter quarter!
