Brass Choir travels to Italy A Musical Ministry Overseas "Two weeks ago a 16-piece brass band from CedarvilleCollegeinOhiocameto helpusplant some seeds in Italian hearts. Apartfrom being fine musicians, they were extremely coopera- tive,hard-workingand dedicated toJesus. They did eleven concerts in fourteen days, and dis- tributed 35,000 gospel tracts and invitations to our church." Such were the words contained within a letter written by Robby Roberts,a mis- sionary with whom the Brass Choir worked during their spring break outreach to Italy. The strategy was simple: assemble in the center of a crowded piazza and begin playing Italianclassicalmusicveryloudlyandverywell; soon a crowd will gather. Mr.Roberts would stepforward, promise more musictocome, and deliver a short evangelistic message. On one particular Sunday afternoon over 400 people heard the beautifulsound ofthebrasschoirand the hope ofthe gospel ofJesus Christ. Thoughthe majorityoftimewasspentminis- tering in and around Milan, the brasschoir was able to drift in a gondola along the canals of Venice, and experience the beauty ofSt. Mark's Cathedral. Now,back in the states, the brass choir prays that those who heard their music and the message of their lives will one day fill thoseemptychurchesandspreadarevivalacross the hardened land ofItaly. *Marcy Hintz Photo by Todd Hill Photo by Todd Hill Photo by Todd Hill
