1995 Miracle Yearbook

Green Day "A good name is more desirable than great riches." It is interesting )me thatfor the large majority of ourstudent body, the name that we seto identifythe man weare honoring is notDr.Green, noris it Pastor reen, and it isn't even Mr.Green. And ofcourse,we would nevercall im Harold! Certainly he is worthy of those titles as a pastor, vice resident, and administrator. Yetasstudents, weknow him simplyas--PG. How ironicthata man f such stature as Dr. Green is called by a nickname by a bunch of ollege kids. Butthe greatestirony isthatthePG nickname,in so many ays, symbolizes how much he means to us as students. 1) We call you PG because you relate to us--we identify with you. 2)Wecall youPG because you arecredible with us--wetrustin you. 3)Wecall youPG because you are real with us--wearesincere with you. 4) We call you PG because you are a brotherto us--we areafriend to you. 5) We call you PG because you have loved us--we love you. On behalf of the student body, I would like to express my gratitude )PGand Mrs.PGfortheincredible ministrythey have had in ourlives. Ve also extend a warm welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Rohm. Although iere will never be anotherPGand Mrs.PG and theirshoes mayseem 'possible to fill, we know that the Lord will use Mr. and Mrs. Rohm, ith their own unique gifts and abilities, to minister to us as a student ody. So to PG and Mrs.PG--THANK YOU! And to Mr.and Mrs. Rohm WELCOME! And we can't wait to give them a nickname. Bowe Hoy 9-lot Dogs,Squares, andDiamonds This isthefirst remembrance mostof us have of Pastorand Mrs. Green. The first Sunday night of each school year, Pastor Green preached thisfamiliar message: "Are you a hot dog, square,or a diamond in therough; are you allowing God to form you into something beautiful?" The Greens came to Cedarville College in 1970 and were greeted with the campus paper introducing them as the "un- pastor" for the "un-church. It is hard for us to imagine the apprehension students felt back then as we think of our campus pastor and his wife, PG and Margaret Green. Their ministry to our college family has been more than through PG'sspeaking. Their ministry has been far reaching. They have both worked with MIS and have seen over two thousand students travel on MIS ministries. Overall, their ministry has been giving--giving of their time and talents for the honor and glory of God. Whether we remembertheir ministry asthat of vice president, head of the Christian ministries department, campus pastor, counselor, secretary, or our campus artist preparing the logos each quarter, I think they would want their ministry to be remem- bered asfurthering the cause of Christ in each and every one of our lives. Thank you PG and Margaretfor being examples of lives yielded "for the Word of God and testimony of Jesus Christ." Cheryl Miller P.G.and Mrs. P.G. received many thank you's on Green Day--rocking chairs, green custom tailored Master's jackets, flowers, etc.
