1995 Baseball Review The Cedarville College baseball season resulted in a 10-22 campaign,but that did not hinder the performance of junior outfielder, Steve Mays. He was voted to the All-Mid-Ohio Conferenceteamforthird consecutiveyearafterrankingsecond in the league with a.420 batting average. Mays was again tabbed the team's MVP after another out- standing season. Heled the Yellow Jackets with 112atbats,47 hits,29runs scored,nine doubles,andfour triples. Hestole 15 bases in 18 attempts, struck out just six times in 124 plate appearances,and wasone ofonly two players to play in all 32 games. Maysearned a spotonthe All-NCCAA DistrictIteam, andhewasanNCCAA All-America honorable mention choice. Senior outfielder,David Geiger,whowastheother player to appearin all32games,wasthe only other.300-plus hitter with a.356average withsevendoublesandateam-high17walks.He wasnamed to the All-NCCAA DistrictIteam as wasfreshman infielder,Josh Lumley,who batted .296. Juniorrighthander,ClintMiller,hadanexcellenteffortonthe mound with a 2.21 earned run average,buthis record wasjust 2-6. The Jackets were 3-9in one-run games,and Miller wason the shortend offour of those close setbacks. MattRobinson,JeffBowen,andPaulMelvinjoined Geigeras the seniorsonthe roster. Robinson was3-2on the mound,and Bowenstole18basesin20attempts.
