She quickly won the love and respect ofthose around her. Ma Printy wassoloved byeveryone that, according to President PaulDixon,Printy Hallwas namedfor herinJune of 1979,seven years before she retired from Cedarville. MaPrinty devoted herselfto the Lord and to other people. Agnes Biddle, a close friend ofPrinty's and thefirstresidentdirectorofPrintyHall, said,"Shewas saved late in life and wasexcited aboutthe Lord right away. Until the week before she died, she was doing visitation." Everyone who knew Ma Printy would remember herfor her high energylevel, evidentin everythingshe did. People often called her a character, a campus personality whom everyone loved. She was involved in literally everything going on around the campus. In 1980, she and Dr. James Phipps '68, chair of the department of communication arts, ran in a "Cedar What" mock election. Even her 70 years did not stop Ma Printy from climbingto the roofofWilliams Hallto give a campaign speech! According to Michael DiCuirci, associate professorofmusic,MaPrintydid nothesitate to get involved with the pep band at basket- ball games, even though she had no formal training in music. She was a hero ofthe faith who made a strong stand for the Lord."WhenIthinkofher,Ithinkofagodlyladywith class, someonewho really enjoyed life and loved people. She obviouslyloved the Lord and was faithful in her prayer life," said Don Rickard, vice president ofstudent services. MaPrintywasin touch with thestudents, and everyoneknewtheycould cometo herfor advice. She wasalways willing to talk, which she did while shaking her long pointer finger. Many of this generation of students do not know about the woman behind Printy Hall. Sheloved Cedarville with all her heartand put all she had into the lives ofthose who came in contact with her. It is averyspecial personindeed whocan affectthe livesofso many, even after her death. She leaves behind her a challenge to put Christand others first, to never let yourfaith grow stale, and to never slack offin yourservice to others.
