1996 Miracle Yearbook

Deborah Haffey has been the coach of the Cedarville College de- bate team for the past six years with 1995- 1996 being one of her most successful years yet. The members of the debate team com- peted in a total ofseven tournaments, winning twotournamentsin Lin- coln-Douglas debate andtwotournamentsin team debate. They also had one or more teams place as quarterfinalist or better at every tour- nament. In addition to Debate theteam'saccomplish- ments, individual de- baters received a speaker award at every tournament,usually5th place or higher. Mrs. Haffey points to the seniors and varsity debaters asthe leaders of the team. Like all other teams from Cedarville, the debate team constantly en- counters people who are unsaved. The suc- cessofthe debateteam is not only a testimony to the excellence of Cedarville, but also for the cause of Christ.
