This year's golfteam wasmadeupof six players. They were led by their two veterans,Steve Burchett and Troy Page. Joining them were Brodie Swanson, David Rooke,Joel Schenk, and Jeremy Birk. Cedarville's golf team is coached byDr.Jim Kragel,whoisin histhird year ofcoaching the Yellow Jackets.Heis an Assistant Professor of Communication Artsandteachesmanybroadcastingclasses. Hewasascratchgolferformany years,and healsocoached highschoolgolfforthree years.BeforecomingtoCedarville,helivedin Florida,where he played in several minitour events on the Tommy Armour Tour and the CentralFloridaTour.Hehasevencompeted in several U.S.Open qualifiers. In order to get ready for the season, the team took a Spring Break trip to Right on Course Golf Myrtle Beach for practice and fellow- ship.Duringtheseason,Cedarvilleplayed in ten invitationals in Ohio,Indiana,and Kentucky.The team's best results came in the OSU-Lima tournament, in which they placed 4th out of 14 teams. They finished a disappointing 7th in the MOC districts, and in the NCCAA national tournamenttheyfinished 8th.Also,inthe 16th Annual Cedarville College Invita- tional, Cedarville finished 8th. Coach Kragel was grateful that the team always had a strong Christian wit- ness wherever they went. "Our entire team loves the Lord and is dedicated to spreading the gospel at every opportu- nity. Like I told the other coaches we competed against,we mightnothave the best golfers out there, but we certainly have the nicest players of all the teams that wegoup against.It wasa pleasureto coach them."
