, liparcEntl uljL HEE -- (Parents of many Cedarville students poured in from all across the nation to enjoy the concerts and events scheduled during this special weekend. The Honor'schapel kicked things off on Friday morning. Thanks to the spaciousness of the Jeremiah Chapel, students and parents alike could com- fortably enjoy the service, as awards for academic excel- lence were given. The next two major events were the Lawn Fest and the Pops Concert. The Pops Con- cert, which was held later on Friday evening, provided the parents with a taste ofthe rich- nessofCedarville's music pro- gram.The Brass Choir,Men's GleeClub,LabBand,TheCon- cert Chorale, and Symphonic byBonnt.,Se.b.Efz‘ Bandallperformedmagnificently. Well-knownnumberssuchasThe LionSleepsTonight,IntheMood, HakunaMatata,andTheBattle of Jericho were performed by these vocal and instrumental groupsfortheaudience'slisten- ingenjoyment. Also during the weekend, Cedarville's track team hosted the NCCAA national track meet,whichtook placeon both FridayandSaturday.Thosewho attended watchedthemen'sand women'steamsachievesuccess, asthewomen'steamonceagain won the national NCCAA title andthemen'steamfinishedthird inthenationalstandings. Anotherhighlightofthe week- end wastheSteveGreenconcert heldonSaturdaynight.Through- outthe concert,Green blended the music to meet the tastes of adults,collegestudents,andchil- dren alike.Hisfocuson theim- portance ofthefamily wasevi- dent,as wellas his ability toget theaudienceinvolvedinworship. Ofcourse,theweekendwould nothavebeencompletewithout the play My Fair Lady. With morethanonehundredcastand crew members,this production wasoneofthelargestCedarville haseverseen.Asaresult,Alford Auditoriumwaspackedwithde- lighted peoplewhowatchedthe characterscomealivethroughthe scenery,costumes, music,and superbactingofallinvolved. Sunday marked the last day of parent's weekend. The churcheswerefilledasstudents escortedtheirparentsto morning services.Followingtheservices, thefamiliesshared afinal meal togetherandsaidfarewell.
