Intramurals Gold Medal The National Hockey League played for the Stanley Cup. The National Football League played for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The students at Cedarville University played for a t- shirt. It was a 100% cotton t-shirt though. Intramural Sports at Cedarville did not promise students multi-million dollar shoe deals, a movie career looming around the corner, or even a trading card with their photo on it. Students participated and competed in intramurals for pride,love ofthe sport, and ofcourse recreation mixed with an urge to get away from the computer after their vision was starting to get a little hazy. Fall quarter allowed sports such as soccer, flag football, and sand volleyball to be played among the fallen leaves. Winter quarter allowed the sports of basketball, Wally ball, and racquetball indoors where students could escape the snow and sixty mile an hour winds coming offthe lake. April showers and May flowers ushered in a season filled with softball, indoor soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee. Two team sports each quarter allowed for a Co-Ed team, giving girls and guys a break from pairing up with their hall mates and a chance to either compete with or against their significant others. Students learned more then just arithmetic and science at Cedarville. They also realized that intramurals were not about winning, but about playing. Activities 139
