acuity CENTENNIAL LIBRARY Towering shelves laden with books offered resources for many projects. The computer lab and resource center provided a place to work on projects for those with a creative flair. Tables scattered throughout the building gave the students a place to study away from their room or with their friends and classmates. These features helped make the Centennial Library a wonderful place, but the staff's passion and love for the students enhanced the effectiveness ofthe library. The staff worked hard to provide the materials needed for all the classes on campus. They offered a wide variety of books, magazines,journal writings, and internet connections. Ifthe Centennial Library did not own the needed material, they would send out to get it; often in a few days, the pertinent material arrived. 170 Academics Besides offering excellent technology and a myriad of resources, the library also provided a warm atmosphere to work. Students could find a place away from the distractions ofdorm rooms and roommates. With large windows, open spaces, and peaceful views from the windows, the library contained the aura oflearning and study. The library faculty and staff held the desire to serve students in a multitude ofways. Librarians aided the students in their various projects. With specialties in many areas, librarians could assist students with using a computer, researching a topic, or finding a book. The staff gave oftheir talents in different divisions—from collection services to media services. Through their diligent work and care for the students, the library prospered. Not only does , Lynne Funtik work hard inher office, but she helps students find library resources. Students are often found staring at the computer figuring out what to do next in the MRC lab.
