2003 Miracle Yearbook
Senior Josh Knorr exhibits his incredible strength to an impressed crowd. Where there was basketball, there was cheerleading. This was definitely true at Cedarville University, where Coach Dawn Scott led her cheerleading squad in encouraging the athletic teams as they played. Attending basketball games and even braving the cold for a few soccer games, the cheerleaders supported Cedarville's athletes in the field as well as on the court. With cheers, flips and highflying acrobatic stunts, the team brought excitement to the crowd and encouraged school spirit. During timeouts they performed routines to get the fans into the game and show off their abilities. During half-times the girls handed out world-famous Colonial pizzas to the loudest and most spirited fans, who thoroughly enjoyed feasting with all their friends. The team worked hard throughout the season. They grew together as a group while staying in top physical condition in order to perform their stunts during the games. Despite the setback of losing some of the male cheerleaders after the first semester, the squad of six members continued to impress the crowds and cheer the teams on to victory. The cheerleaders not only cheered at games, but also decorated the locker rooms, were secret cheerleaders to different members on the basketball teams, and sent food and encouraging notes to the players. The men and women sought to glorify God throughout their cheerleading, which was the ultimate goal of the team. They started both their practices and games with prayer and devotions to focus their actions on God and give praise to Him through their cheerleading ability. The team was small this year ending the season with a few less than at the beginning of the year, but with only senior Autumn Howe leaving, they should have a strong returning core for next year.
