Campbell won the 5000 meters. Joel Smith took the high jump, and the team took fourth out of the nine schools partici- pating. On February 15,the team competed in the All-Ohio Indoor championships. With the help offreshmen high jumper Joel Smith and James Yahara, who took eleventh in the weight throw, the team took second place only behind Central State. After the success at the All-Ohio championships,a week later they competed at the NCCAA Indoor championships. Dan Campbell won the 5000-meter run, while Matt Trammel set a new school record in the 200 meters with a time of 23.15 seconds. Switching to the outdoor running was tough because the track was not yet completed as the team had hoped. The team still competed and had success. At the American Mideast Conference championships, the 4x800 meter relay won for the fifth straight year. The team consisted of Mark Swan,Andy Goodenough,Ben Shroyer and Drew Nelson. Later, at the NCCAA Outdoor championships Tim Beck,Mugabe Thomas,Justin Mattern, Kevin Hall, and James Yahara all received All American Honors. Although it was a tough season, Head Coach Paul Orchard commented,"The best part is always seeing the athletes attain personal best marks in their events." With a team loaded with many young athletes and the help of the new track facility, Cedarville track looks to improve in the next couple of years. FINISHING THE RACE
