WAIT UNTIL DARK LaVaugh Ricci delivers a spectacular performance, playing a young, marrried blind woman. With a delightful combination ofhumor, mystery, and suspense that kept the audience on the edge ofits seat, Wait UntilDark repeatedly attracted large crowds during January and February. LaVaughn Ricci delivered a brilliant performance as Susie Hendrix,a blind woman from New York. When an assailant murdered someonejust outside her basement apartment, trouble began for Susie and her husband Sam. As the plot unfolded, the Hendrixes and their thirteen year-old friend Gloria prepared to ward offthe criminals who framed them with the evidence. Because darkness did not affect the mobility ofthe blind heroine, they waited until dark for the criminals to come. "This play is very involved and was fun to perform," Ricci said."This play is unique." A stellar cast ofsupporting actors included Scott Ryan,Nathan Loftis, D.R. Coffer,Daron Day,Lauren McCotter,James Tullett, and Daniel Alburger. "The small cast made it intimate," McCotter said."It was fun because we got to know each other's personalities better." This extraordinary cast included four freshmen and five new actors on Cedarville's stage. Wait Until Dark did not come without a small set ofdifficulties, however. "The stage caught on fire in practice once, and there was a lot ofsmoke!"Ryan commented with enthusiasm. "Also, having a three-week layoffat Christmas break was tough—not good for a play." The poise the cast required to overcome these difficulties was truly outstanding. Dr. David Robey directed the remarkable play. "He had a great vision for how he wanted the show to go," Ryan said. "Wait UntilDark was a really good learning experience," Ricci commented. "It was a challenge, and I admire the visually-impaired for overcoming their daily challenges." SPRING SEMESTE
