STAFF CHAPEL Dean Smith donned aviators, grabbed an umbrella and parked in a lawn chair to watch the staff parade across the stage for the annual staffchapel. Steve Wood dubbed himselfClouse for the day and narrated the event with a German accent. Every department on campusfound a unique and interesting way to introduce themselves to the student body. One ofthe crowd favorites was Larry Reid,who led part ofthe custodial staffin a stomp routine and song involving brooms,toilet brushes, and various other cleaning supplies. Other groups included Financial Aid parading across the stage as classic Christmas characters,such as Fred Merritt as Santa Clause, while Campus Safety creatively marched as Campus safety officers and did a greatjob of maintaining order. In another musical number,several members ofCampus Activities and Admissions sang a familiar Christmas carol in the style ofnSync. Another high- light was when Dr. Dixon walked across the stage with a secretary on each arm, and then signed parade watcher Marilyn Ware's forehead. Students will remember StaffChapel as one ofthe best chapels ofthe year. "Staffchapel may be my favorite chapel of all time,"junior Scott DeClark said.
