FACULTY OF THE YEAR At Honors day chapel, Professor James Leightenhiemer innocently sat in the back ofthe chapel ready to applaud the award winners and go about his day. He had no idea that his family waited behind the stage to congratulate him on receiving the Faculty Member ofthe Year award. Students and colleagues nominated and selected Leightenhiemer to receive this prestigious award. As he sat listening to student Joseph Reno list his many accolades, Leightenhiemer realized the description fit him. Leightenhiemer has worked in the Communication Arts department as an Associate Professor of Broadcasting for many years and was a favorite of many students. He led numerous missions' trips all over the world and was the leader ofthe Who's Who among College Students committee. In addition to teaching, he also serves on the Educational Resource Assistance Program Committee, which sends teachers to China. As he came forward to receive the award, his family appeared with balloons and smiles to congratulate him. The entire chapel applauded and cheered as Mr. Leightenhiemer smiled and accepted his award.
