MOONLIGHT MADNESS Like clockwork, the beginning ofthe basketball season came with the arrival of frigid winds and cold weather. A late night pep rally on Friday,November 1, kicked offthe men's and women's basketball seasons. With help from the boister- ous pep band, the cheerleaders and the Cedarville Yellow Jacket excited everyone for the upcoming matches. Both the men's and women's teams scrimmaged against each other in friendly competitive games, and during breaks the cheerleaders performed their routines to the music ofthe pep band. Fans also enjoyed a dunk contest in which participants from the student body reprensenting their dorms,as well as alumni, impressed the crowd with their highflying acrobatic stunts. Thejudges awarded Walter Strickland first place for his performance. Other activities included a three-point shooting contest among female students and a cheering contest. The night ended with a dunking performance from Mugabe Thomas as he jumped over a teammate in route to the most incredible dunk ofthe evening. The crowd loved it, and the gym went crazy as students rushed onto the court to congratulate the players and team. Kirsten Rosotti and Molly Earley stretch to see who's taller on the opening jump ball. < Matthew Davis, Aaron Sattler, Kimberly Edlund, and Tim VandeKopple break the typical Cedarville ratio of three girls to one guy.
