DAY OF PRAYER Shortly after sunrise on October 23,dozens ofstudents circled the flagpole to start a day set aside for a special purpose: prayer. As the group held hands, they offered prayers for their school, their families, and their country. Chapel began early, allowing for a lengthy time ofpraise, followed by a presen- tation from Dr.John Greening,Presidentofthe GARBC.Atthe end ofchapel,Dr. Dixon led the Cedarville family in a time ofprayer for specific requests on campus. After chapel, each class split into groups allowing students to pray corporately and individually. Freshman Ashley Selegue said,"The best part was when the leader gave us five minutes to pray aloud on our own. It really helped our class feel unified and helped me feel unified because we were all talking to God at the same time." SGA led prayer meetings for students and faculty members throughout the rest ofthe afternoon. After hours ofevents organized for prayer, the day concluded with the student body gathering a final time around a brilliant bonfire to sing and pray for God's guidance and blessing. Michelle Bicking and Stephanie Dager take the time to uplift each other in prayer. < The Day of Prayer gives students opportunities to pray for different national, school, and personal issues. < Students find time to pray individually throughout the Day of Prayer.
