TIME TOGETHER On November 8,grandparents gathered on the Cedarville campus for Grandpar- ents' Weekend. Excited students shared the campus with their much-loved family members. The weekend began on Friday morning with a special chapel focused on grandparents. Chapel leaders recognized and awarded the oldest grandparents and those with the longest marriages. Additionally, the school honored those who served in the military for their service to their country. The Symphonic Band played an assortment of melodies from the World War II era, and during the Homefront Medley, the symphonic band used an authentic air raid siren to remind the audience ofthat period. Other nostalgic components ofthe service included an "On the Air!" presentation ofa classic radio drama. Dr. Dixon closed chapel by expressing his gratitude to all the grandparents who helped build a Christian foundation for their children. The university provided many opportunities for the grandparents to experience the musical talents ofthe students. Concert Chorale, Men's Glee Club, Jubilate, Women's Choir, and the Jazz Singers presented a musical entourage for the grandparents' and students' enjoyment. The Symphonic Band also performed in concert Friday evening. Grandparents reminisced about the early days ofradio as faculty, staff, and students presented a drama at the Opera House in downtown Cedarville. The"On the Air!" production brought to life the excitement ofwatching the recording ofa radio drama. The women's basketball team played their home opener on Friday evening, and grandparents and students cheered the women's team to victory. No matter the grandparent and student interests—sports, drama, or music—everyone found something to enjoy during the weekend. Most importantly, the students and grandparents enjoyed their time together. April Bauman (above) and Kelly Martin (left) listen to the stories their grandpar- ents tell about their parents!
