Cheerleaders Win Top Award Whatwould haveaCedarville basketball game been without a littleteamspirit?Andwhobrought that out better than the Yellowjaclets cheerleading squad? Headed by Coach Dawn Scott, the squad of eleven girls and seven guys was an integral part of Cedarville basketball games, pumping up the crowd with cheers and daredevil stunts. Said freshman Regan Rice, "Thebestthingaboutbeingonthe Cedarvillecheerleadingsquadwas promoting spirit to support the Jacketsin all different ways! Not only did we get tocheer and mount,but as asquad we had the opportunity to show our support through posters and just doing whatever we could to fire up our Jackets!" The spiritoftheteam did not juststop offthe court.According to freshman Tim Schriemer, his favorite partofbeing on the team was"the unity we all share. I was so close to everyone on the team. They were my brothers and sisters.Everytimewegottogether something funny always happened. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to spend halfof my week with. These guys and girls were awesome." Both on and offthe courtthis squad ofmen and women did an excellent job of glorifying God and promoting team spirit. The team also competed at the Cheerleaders of America Cheerleading Competition in Columbus and took first place. Theteam preparesfora mountinvolv- ing many physical components. The team holds up Erica and Erin Cunningham as they climb higher. 150 Athletics
