Breaking Records The Cedarville University men's track and field team began the season with new facilities both indoor and out and a new coach,Jeff Bolender, replacing new cross country coach, Paul Orchard. The team opened the season indoors on January I6th at Ohio Northern placingthirdinafieldof eight. Tim Beck won the long jump andjoined the winning4X 800 meter relay team composed of Adam Laskos, Ryan Bundenthal,and Chris DeLange. BeckbroketheCedarvillelong jumprecordattheDePauwIndoor Invitational with a leap of23feet 7.25 inches. He then broke his own record and set a new meet record at the NCCAA Indoor Nationals at 23 feet 8 inches. TheNCCAAIndoorNationals crowned twelve All-Americans from Cedarville and the team finished 2nd overall. Jason Scott earned rightsto the NAIA Indoor Championships in the pole vault, Tim Beck wonthe longjump,and Dan Campbell repeated as 5K champion. Cedarville faired well at the NAIAIndoorChampionshipsand Jason Scott earned a spot as an All-American in the pole vault afterplacingthird. ChrisDeLange then set a new school record in the400 meter dash with atime of 49.95 seconds. Scott placed first in the Pole Vault in the NAIA outdoor championships. Said Scott, "I desired to honor the Lord in all that I did onand offthetrack, and finallyifLordwilling,maybebreak afew school records in the mean- time." Dan Campbellpulls ahead ofthe pack in the 5K.
