Day of Prayer rane of( 9tidion The Day of Prayer provided the university family with time awayfrom the daily routine to devote to prayer. Many took advantage ofthe cancelled morning classes by praying. Dr.Brownbeganthedaybyinviting the student body to the early morning Leadership Breakfast in support and honor ofstudent leaders. Everyone met for Chapel, which lefthundredsofstudentsfocused onthe importance of our continuous communication with God. Dr. Brown focused everyone's attention on the Lord's Prayer. Freshman Karen Alenskissaid,"God was present,and it was awesome to have so many people in one place praying atthe same time." The Day of Prayer ended with a chilly fall evening as students huddled around a bonfire for a relaxed time of song and praise.Rachel Marley,senior and Vice PresidentofSGA,said,"The Day of Prayer was amazing! It truly inspired me to be fervent in prayer every day,notjuston one special day." "This, then, is how you should pray:'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come,your will be done on earth as it is in heaven..." (Matthew 6:9-13).
