Browns'Reception c' 9aa/„gakeive# Theclassof2004finallygotachanceto mingle with Dr. Bill Brown at his home during the annual senior reception. Dr. Brown greeted seniors at the top of his driveway with an ever-eager welcome. Studentsswarmed him for pictures,and he fielded questions graciously even after a long night at Elliv the evening before. The Browns' backyard was converted into a reception area with a catered spread ofcheeses,crackers,punch,and crepes. It wasabeautifulspringday,somoststudents sat outside,buta curiousfew worked their wayinside the house. Some students even made themselves at home in the Browns' sun room and watched the Pistons-Bucks game. Thepoundingsunforcedsomestudents to find shade under the monstrous trees toweringovertheBrown yard,whileothers welcomed the warmth as they feasted on catered food. Dressed in their Sunday best,students came together for group pictures on the Browns' patio. Mrs. Lynn Brown also chatted with students and gave them abridged tours ofher home. When the afternoon was over,students found the ever-smiling face ofMr.Walker directing school vans in and out of the Browns' driveway on their short trips to and from school. Students found the Browns extremely hospitable,even to an often-rambunctious group ofcollege kids. It was the perfect send-offfor the senior class.
