2013 Miracle Yearbook

Because we have been so loved by God through Christ, we do not have to serve others, we get to serve others. No hidden agendas. No ulterior motives. God's grace frees us to turn our atten- tion fully to serving the person in front of us." —Dr.William Brown President COMMUNITY MINISTRIES Community Ministries provided some of the most valu- able and life-changing experiences for students. The university encouraged students to reach out to the neighboring communities of Xenia and Springfield, and even as far as Dayton and Columbus. Some students joined local churches where they got involved with programs such as AWANA, while others helped out at community-sponsored organizations. The Commu- nity Ministries division at Cedarville provided students with transportation through a fleet of university-owned vans to help larger teams commute to their ministry every week. The opportunities to serve in the com- munity helped to develop leadership skills in students as well as provide them with ways to share their faith with others. Some ministries spanned the course of both semesters, while others lasted only for a week or weekend. No matter the amount of time spent, stu- dents learned that they could have a real impact on the people around them and would carry these experi- ences with them into other ministries in the future. 1.CU Volunteers make crafts at a Valentine's Day banquet for STARS.,a ministry for middle-school girls. 2.Victoria Mueller helps out with AWANA at Emmanuel Baptist Church. 3.Sophomore Bethany Miller and Senior Erin Scheunemann play card games with kids3 The Warehouse teen center. 4.Snow tubing with the youth group from 4 Agape Chinese Church, Cedarville student- Jon Her and Caleb Tang have a blast. 5.
