2013 Miracle Yearbook

Getting Started feels a lot like summer camp, only more awkward if that is even possible. But unlike summer camp, you are helping new students fit into the place that will be their home for the next four years, and more likely they will do the same for others in years to come." —Joel Wasserstein, Sophomore Getting Started Leader GETTING STARTED As the summer came to a close, the Getting Started Crew eagerly awaited the arrival of the new students. RAswerescrambling tofinish up any last minutetouches in their units, hoping they didn't forget anything. Junior RA Nate Hills simply smiled when asked if he was ready for the new year. For many upperclassmen, it was just a normal day, but to incoming students, it was the start of something brand new. As the weekend continued, new students and transfer students met with their small groups. Getting Started leaders not only described life at Cedarville to the new students, jokingly warning them not to use trays in Chuck's, but they also explained the seriousness of setting aside time with God every day. While the new students were settling in, returning students began to arrive as well. They were able to join in the activities of the weekend, such as the SGA wor- ship night and New Student Welcome Party. Overall, students enjoyed time to reconnect with friends, learn more about themselves, and grow in Christ. 1. Roommates Molly Heiden and Tori Switzer move into Willets with their parents' help. 2. Ellen Moore gathers with students on Cedar Lake Drive for the SGA worship night. 3. Getting Started Crew volunteer, Michael Shoemaker, helps students carry their belongings into Lawlor. 4.Alyssa Mathis, Kyle Reilly, and Joel Wasser- stein welcome new students to campus. 5. Willets RAs Britt Dewitt, Anna Reisenweaver and Kate Stover wait for their girls to arrive. 6.Evan Stark and Jack Lightbody bust a move at the New Student Welcome Party.
