Alumnotes, Fall/Winter 2012

Cedarville University | Fall/Winter 2012 alumnotes | Homecoming Homecoming 2012 M ore than 1,200 alumni and their families enjoyed two beautiful autumn days on campus celebrating Homecoming 2012: Founded. In addition to 10 class reunions for years ending in 2 and 7, the weekend featured more than 20 academic, ministry, and athletic reunions. Alumni caught up with friends at the cardboard canoe race, athletic events, concerts, and the annual homecoming parade. Alumni Relations honored seven alumni award winners at the Legacy Banquet on Friday night and during the parade Saturday morning. The CU by the Lake party was among the favorite attractions. While alumni sampled food provided by student organizations and mingled with old friends, children enjoyed inflatables and face painting and had their photos taken with the Yellow Jacket by the Rock. The student homecoming court also stopped in to join the fun! “We chose the theme, Founded, to celebrate both our 125-year history and our connection as Cedarville graduates, rooted in Christ,” said Clara (Gebert) Lutz ‘10, Coordinator for Alumni Programming and Communications, who organizes all homecoming activities. “It is always a joy to see the Cedarville family return to campus and share their memories. This year we enjoyed having one of our oldest alumni, Geraldine Henry ’34, participate in the weekend’s activities.” Mark your calendars now for next year’s homecoming celebration on October 4–5, 2013.
